We're back from his 2 week check up. He is 22 inches long and 8 lbs 4oz.
I also went to the doctor's today and had some blood work done to make sure my hemoglobin levels are up. The good news that the doctor was not concerned about the 20 lb weight loss in the first week - it was NOT an indication that my health was failing. It was a combination of the baby (plus placenta etc.), the water retention weight, and the fact that I'm exclusively breastfeeding. I've lost 27 lbs so far ... 13 more to go until my pre-pregnancy weight, although I'm not too concerned yet. I'm still focusing on getting healthier and recovering.

He is just tooo cute! What a sweet face!!! That's great that you're ok. And good for you for breast feeding. I couldn't do it. I needed to have my coffee back!! And yay for the 27 pounds! I gained 30 in my pregnancy. Abby will be a year and I just lost the last of the weight! It sucks! Congrats!

omg, is that his tongue i see in the 1st picture? he's so cute, it's always wonderful to see xanga babies esp. since i 1st came to your page at the beginning of your pregnancy...ah, and now look at the gift of life.
congrats on breastfeeding, i couldn't bf because i had school and couldn't handle accidental leakage and plus my son wouldn't latch on.
it sounds like you are on a road to a full recovery so that's good. you'll be back to your old self in no time.

he's so cute! glad to hear you are doing well. i am still breastfeeding Alyssa (she's now 9mo) although she has solids as well obviously! I found the weight dropped off like that too, a nice bonus! Sounds like you are doing great!!
