Here’s a picture dump of what makes me happy. Babies laughing! Better yet, MY baby laughing!

He doesn’t always laugh though. When he cries, and we can’t solve the issue, this is what we do to him:

Zachary is 3 months old (will be 4 months in a week), and he weighs …. 17 pounds! That’s right – he is a very big boy. He loves watching other people eat. He blows bubbles and thinks it’s the funniest thing. Doesn’t like stories too much though – he’ll close the book before the end.
My mom was worried Zachary would be too serious – as it turns out, he thinks everything is a joke. He laughs all the time – and when he’s not laughing, he’s upset and crying. There seems to be no inbetween.

Zachary has a new potential girlfriend. She’s a month and a half younger than he is. Her name is Kaitlyn (which is my favorite girl name), and she is really cute. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like she’s too impressed with him. Zach loves to play with fabrics, so he was playing with her dress … and at one point had his hand on her leg. We’re going to have to teach him some manners!

Here are this weeks’ pictures… He has lots of toys. I bought him the mirror toy from TJMaxx for $7. It encourages him to lift his head up during tummy time. The aquarium bouncer, we bought from our friends’ private garage sale. They have a baby a few months older than Zachary, and he never liked the bouncer so it was bascially brand new. We bought it for $10. (I looked it up and the retail price was $40.)

Zachary thinks everything is funny – especially in the morning. In the middle picture, he kind of looks like my sister’s friend George. I think for my 30th birthday, I want more Dr SEUSS books. I don’t really need anything, and I read to Zachary a few times a day. It would be nice to have more books to rotate through.

I measured Zach today – 26 inches. It’s almost time for him to move to the larger car seat! The Perego is still in excellent condition, so I’ll be saving it for my sisters’ babies.
Zachary is getting so interactive. Now that he can grab things, he can actually PLAY. He seems to be much happier now, although he still has hysterical crying fits.

The toy has was the first item he could pick up. He loves playing with it since it’s easy for him to manipulate in his hands. It’s by Manhattan Toys – highly recommended! I tried to catch a smile, but mostly just have pictures of him with his mouth open.

He looks crazy in the first picture – sort of evil. The second is a daily ritual. He wrestles with his stuffed frog. He also tries to eat the frog.

A few more close ups. I think he looks a lot like my mom.
HAPPY 3 MONTH OLD TO ZACHARY!
Here is a recap of month 2 …

Zach studies his hand – he found it! Still not grabbing for toys yet, although he will hold toys if you place it in his open hand.

He LOVES to be naked. If he is crying, all we have to do is take off his clothes and give him a bath.

Dad likes to read Dr. Suess to him. He also reads board books like Goodnigh Moon. Reading is fun because there are no essays to write and exams to take. Somehow school takes the fun out of learning!

Happy Fourth of July! Here we are watching fireworks. A few made him jump. We kept our hands over his ears for the most part.
The best part of month 2? For the last week, Zachary has slept over 8 hours. YAY! The only issue is that my body clock is so screwed up, I end up waking at 3am anyway.
As a side note, my tomato plants are also still alive. Well, most of them anyway.
Platex bottles did not work. We’re giving up for awhile – maybe until he starts eating rice cereal. My friend has a new baby, and I loaned her all my Avent stuff – sterilizer, bottle warmer, bottles, nipples, storage bags and clips. My mom says to keep trying, but we have been trying for a month and he screams hysterically with tears. He turns red and sweats so much, we need to give him a bath. It really feels like we are torturing him, and he’s only 2 months. Also, he latches on well, so a feeding only takes about 10 minutes now. Final score ….
Zachary 1, Mom 0.
