Last weekend we went to Six Flags, courtesy of work. Our company paid for tickets, parking, and a BBQ. Yea for free stuff! (Hmm…considering the hours put in at work, was it really free?) It was good autumn weather. At 18 months, Zachary is still more into community park type activities (slides, throwing balls, running around and climbing) than theme park rides though. He was scared on the roller coaster (buried his head in my sweatshirt!)
My sister joined us. She was very patient in pointing out all the animals in the park. Zachary’s favorite were … fish! Afterwards, my sister and I hit the outlets while James took Zachary home. The next day we hit another outlet mall. Didn’t buy anything except a pair of BRepublic black pants for $16.99.
Oh – and Zachary’s new stats. 31.25 inches tall (20%) and 22 lbs 6oz (5-10%). Still very small! In a way, I’m glad. Some of the kids in his daycare look like little boys and girls, but Zachary still has a baby look to him. (Of course, as an adult I don’t want him to be short and scrawny or baby faced!)
Zachary said his first 2 syllable word today … “carrot.” What the heck? We don’t even eat vegetables at our house! It just so happened we made a frozen bag of veggies and there were some baby carrots. CARROT?! James and I were shocked. The other 2 syllable word, which I don’t think counts is “choo-choo” for train. It’s more of a sound than a word. Ugh. Still no “mama” or “dada.” Oh – and yesterday he wore a hole through his horse Robeez and threw a huge fit. Cried himself to sleep. What is his obsession with shoes?!

is it just our kids, or all kids obsessed with shoes? coz Carlos REALLY loves his shoes.
he’s not even scared of that shark! …carrot…that’s funny hehehe
Is that Marine World?
Ooooh, his first words! More and more are going to come fast!!
Yay for Zach!!!
My boss was telling us about her daughter’s first words.. she calls everyone “daddy”. Zach is so cute!
Don’t worry it’ll come, then he’ll be talking nonstop!
His shoes? hehe that’s so kute, gotta love those kicks
he is soooo cute! yay! for zach on his first word…
kid’s getting pretty long.
= )
its the oddest thing and the most interesting..they learn words that you don’t really talk nor have around the house! Nathan has thing with shoes too. Since he puts his shoes away now for some reason we always find our shoes scarred while his are perfectly arranged in the shoe rack…hmmmmm
thats so cute that he said carrot!! hes absolutely adorable!
*hugs*
Alice was patient in pointing out all the animals? You mean…Zachary was patient listening to Alice drone on and on and on about animals.
hye, you probably don’t remmeber me, but my sisterinlaw is derekpictures.
I used to always look at your pictures. Zachary has really grown up, and he’s so cute.
Mmmmmm….animals……
what an adorable little boy you have there…how’s mommahood treating you?…good I hope…well, in about a month, I should be able to experience mommahood with everyone else…any heads up about the first month, cuz I’m getting really nervous…well hope I didn’t bother you…take care
next time he cries about making a hole in his shoes, just stick a carrot in there.
He’s still cute, so it doesn’t matter!
And I agree with you about the “baby” look – Gannon is looking more like a little boy these days than a baby, and I’m actually sad about that! I miss the “baby”…
Carrot is so random…I can’t wait to hear what Gannon’s first words will be…probably something like sh*t…nice huh?
Maybe his first three-syllable word will be broccoli.
Anyway, you should set a good example and eat more vegetables at your house!
Great pics.
Zach is getting so big; I loveeeeeee his outfit.
Yay for on his 1st 2 syllable words.
HAHA, he threw a fit b/c he wore a hole in his beloved Robeez…that’s hilarious. A meterosexual man in the making.
