Hello - a busy weekend for us! On Saturday, we went to Sherry and Oliver's baby shower. They're going to have a baby boy in December. Zach's naptime was noon, so he started getting fussy around 1pm. Actually lots of babies got fussy. It's great to have mom friends because they totally understand that skipping naps can make even well behaved kids little monsters! Oliver was patiently naming a bunch of animals off boxes, as Zachary pointed to them - I think he'll be an excellent dad. Congratulations Sherry and Oliver!
Next up, was Peter's 32rd birthday party. Talk about awesome food! Peter is a my foodie friend - we both love food ... he's the expert, I just eat it.
He had delicious Filipino food catered. It was so good, I didn't have room for dessert ... so I packed it to go! Happy Birthday Peter! On Sunday, my friend Melissa organized a group outing to Silver Bend pumpkin patch.
We went on train rides, hay rides, and tractor rides. Hannah even went on a pony ride! Zachary LOVED playing in the barley. We had a BBQ lunch, and Zachary ate all the beans from my chili.
A whole bunch of new words for Zachary this week. He now says ... bed, hot, cup, bath. sit, and two (for any number.) He understands a bunch more of words than he can verbalize, which is typical for his age. My favorite new one is "huh-mah" for hippo. And get this, get this. When he pointed to a picture of a peanut and James said "Peanut", Zachary pointed to his crotch.

Mom friends or friends who grew up w/lots of siblings are the best.
Congrats to your friends.
Great pics---I love Zach's toy vacuum(sp?)...very cute.
Have a great week.
i love Zachary with the vacuum cleaner and the greem tractor. CUTE!
hopefully it ends up a little bigger than a peanut.
= )
looks like you guys had a great weekend...
Dana looks like she is straight out of the broadway musical Oklahoma. Zachary looks like he is straight out of the blockbuster hit turned musical The Full Monty.
that's so funny. my peds attending told me that when her daughter was learning about body parts she said "mommy had a 'gina' and daddy had a 'tail'." and when she tried to correct her, she haughtily replied "mom, that's not a peanut!" and after further explanation she said "well you can call it a peanut but i'm going to call it a tail!" kids are so funny.
Teach Zachary "Beyond". Then he can be the spokesbaby for "Bed Bath & Beyond"
"When he pointed to a picture of a peanut and James said 'Peanut', Zachary pointed to his crotch." This is like one of those sentences I would see in elementary school grammar class to demonstrate the confusion pronouns can cause when functioning as the object of a sentence where there are two active subjects.
