We’re slowing down after our July 4th weekend activities. Last Saturday, Zachary and Alex took a trial gymnastics class at Tricks. They both had fun – and we’re thinking about signing them up in the fall/winter.
On Sunday, Zachary’s friend Maia came over for a playdate. We went to the water park, and had lunch there. Maia’s mom made spam sushi …. I was tentative at first, but it was really good!
This weekend, we went berry picking (one of Zachary’s least favorite activities) with a bunch of friends. Zach refuses to pick berries – he just points to them, says “mama”, and guides my hand to the berries. And of course, he won’t eat any either. But I had fun - the potluck picnic lunch and berry desserts were terrific!
(Excuse the greasiness of my hair … I went out for a massage that morning, and didn’t get a chance to wash off the oils before the event!) That evening, Dana, Dave, and Jan (Dana’s mom from Boise) came over for dinner and games. I made a super easy chili using 1lb of ground beef, a can of kidney beans, and 3 cans of chopped tomatoes w/chilies. We just topped it with cheese, added a side of corn, and called it dinner! Dessert was berries and 4 bags of popcorn! You know you’re good friends when you can serve stuff like that.

Interesting dinner. Jan must have been aghast.
p.s. your kid is infinitely cuter with a haircut. but then again, i’ve always had an affinity towards guys with short hair.
I’ll just assume that when you say you topped the chili with cheese, you’re actually referring to “cheese product.”
It looks as if Zach really enjoys reading.
