Thank goodness for 4-day weekends! This past weekend, we had people over to celebrate Thanksgiving – James’ parents, my sister Alice, my cousin Benny and his friend Dave. We had a traditional turkey dinner. Speaking of which …I have a poll… does anyone really like roasted turkey? Is it possible that the Pilgrims ate turkey because they had no other option? Options that we now have, living so close to ethnic restaurants and Safeway? Are we blindly following tradition like we auto pilot to work every day? What else would posses so many families to choke down over 16 pounds of dry meat in a weekend? Next year – forget Pilgrim food, we’re having Indian instead!
Hope everyone had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

try deep fried turkey, it’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO juicy. AND i heard it’s healthier. had my first this year. YUM!
wow, zachary looks like such a big boy now!
Next year, are you having Indian food? …or Indian?
Also try brining the turkey for a day in advance. Search for Alton Brown’s time-tested and popular recipe.
Jen, thanks for having Dave and I over! Turkey was great and stuffing was awesome. Unfortunately, I subsequently lost $170 at Thunder Valley short thereafter. Haha.
lol to ur entry. it’s so true because i know that thanksgiving turkey isn’t as tolerable until the next day when i can eat it with a bit of mayo and a slice of cheese. haha random props
p.s. and yeah it is alot better deep fried.
