It’s been a while since I posted … mid-January, we drove down to the Bay Area to celebrate a late Christmas with my sisters. We stayed at Eddie’s new house; it was a lot larger and more modern than most Bay Area homes I’ve been to. Congratulations on the new home, Eddie! We had a gift exchange. I received a pedometer, calendar, and castle cake pan. James got a CD, a Simpson’s game (that Sophia coded), and a really fun new game called Bohnanza. Zachary received two books, including a dot-to-dot!
We spent the day playing games … Quiddler, Bohnanza, video games… Then cousin Spencer joined us, and Eddie and Sophie made everyone dinner. It was really delicious! I think I’m the worst cook of all three sisters … by far!
Last weekend, we went to Sam and Melissa’s for a lunch playdate. And for James’ 36th birthday, we met up with Dana and Dave at a new Japanese hibachi restaurant. For gifts, he received a few pairs of wire cutters from his parents, a personalized note pad from his sister, and a bag of chili lime peanuts from me and Zachary (we almost bought the cashew ones, but they were over twice as expensive!). Happy 36th Birthday James!
This past Friday, we celebrated Dana’s 37th birthday by playing a game of Settlers at her house. We had Thai food for dinner and a raspberry cheesecake icecream cake for dessert. Yum! Happy 37th Birthday Dana! The next day, James took Zachary to a monthly library reading and craft event. Afterwards, we went to Red Robin to cash in on his free birthday burger. On Sunday, we had a small SuperBowl get-together at our house. We had a variety of appetizers and grilled sausages with onions and red peppers for dinner. Zachary got to show off his Wedgit and marble run building skills to a new audience.
Super sauce story #1 (warning, there are a few of these I’ll be posting, and they are really not going to be interesting or funny to anyone except me.)
Me: Zachary ,eat your super sauce and you’ll get bigger
Zachary: I’ll get longer
Me: Yes, you’ll get taller.
Zachary: I will get too big for my new bed. <pause> And then I will have to sleep in your bed. <eats all super sauce>

It’s not a condo…it’s a real house! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES AND DANA!
P.S. The last pic with the spoon in the mouth is precious.
Happy Bday folks. Super sauce is certainly impacting Z’s life significantly. I bet he dreams about it. I hope he grows up tall and strong just like you promise!!
SEVERAL pairs of wire cutters. Not just one pair. Several. Wow. That and the peanuts make for quite a haul, I must say.
I’ve noticed that James’ face time on this xanga has markedly increased recently. Can we dial it back a bit? It’s actually too much.
I’m jealous of Zach’s crushed velvet comforter.
