It’s been a pretty laid back month for us, which is perfect because I’ve been busy at work … evaluation time and I’m a new manager.
Zachary loves building things, and I like taking pictures of his creations. Below are 2 log cabins and a marble run that he made all on his own! (Future job at Toysrus assembling bikes?)
Two weeks ago, we went to his school open house spaghetti dinner (no good picture, sorry). And on Friday, we had Dana and Dave over for dinner and games. Jason did pretty well sleeping in a playpen at our house!
For Valentine’s Day, James and I went out for Greek food for lunch. He got me rechargeable batteries for my camera (I lost a set), and I bought him a Kenneth Cole cologne recommended to me at the store by a 18-yr-old skater. I also gave James a late birthday gift – a Coach wallet. His old one is literally disintegrating…it’s not even clear what the original color is, and I always wash my hands after siphoning cash from it … I think he’s had it since college.
This weekend was a 3-day weekend, and my sisters came up to visit. We did our best to stimulate the economy (despite not getting the tax rebate – grrr!) by going outlet shopping. Our big purchases were at Coach and BCBG – although the best value was the 17 cent clearance Nerd-on-a-rope candy from The Paper Outlet. Zachary’s trundle mattress was delivered that morning – just in time. Zachary loves my sisters – he was loopy/giddy the entire time they were here!
We also had some friends over for dinner (meatloaf – I’m a classy host) and games. We played Wii and Sophie showed us the Simpson’s game she coded. Later in the evening, we played Bohnanza, which is my new favorite card game. I think I ended up staying up until 2-3am chatting… it made me feel a little younger as my usual bedtime is 10:30pm!

On President’s day, we went to Ki and Megan’s for Vietnamese crepes. It was really delicious! And Zachary had a fun time playing with the other boys … drums, climbing structure, hide-and-seek. It’s really great having friends with kids his age.

We couldn’t find any Nerd-on-a-Rope at Vacaville outlets. What a bummer.
I cleaned house at Vacaville. Echoing Sophie, no nerd-on-a-rope.
