Last weekend was lots of fun… started off by going to Dylan’s for a swim playdate. Zachary loves water and had a great time. We shamelessly asked Dylan’s parents to invite us again in the future!

That evening, we went to Joe and Sara’s for a barbecue. We had a good time, but unfortunately Zachary ate something bad earlier in the day and diarreah’d on their sidewalk right before we went home. The next day, we hosted a small playdate… complete with slip-n-slide and small wading pool. The boys had a really good time … and we learned from our trial run a few weeks ago, which part of our sloped yard to put the slide!
This weekend, we went to Kevin’s 3rd birthday party. Lucky for Zachary, it was a pool party. Zachary is getting very comfortable with water and will now jump in (with a lifevest) - which isn’t super impressive for a 4-year-old, but Zachary is very cautious, so it’s impressive to us! Happy 3rd Birthday Kevin!
In the afternoon, we drove down to San Jose for James’ cousin’s double birthday, housewarming, potluck party. Happy 5th Birthday Auggie! Happy Birthday Chrissie! And congratulations to the whole family on the new house. Chrissie gave me a box of hand-me-down girl clothes too … hurrah for reuse and thank you!
After the party, we went to my sister Sophia’s place. We played a fun new game called ‘Ticket to Ride.’ The next day, we went mini golfing. Zachary loved it! We also took Alice out for dimsum since her birthday is coming up. Happy 31st Birthday (a week early) Alice!
Week 35 … baby heartrate was 145. I gained one pound. (Total weight = 174, total weight gain = 31 lbs.) Baby is head down!
Today is my last day of work (at least until next year) – YEA! I like my coworkers, but it will be a nice break to just focus on being a mom full time. Yesterday, my coworkers threw me a surprise baby shower. (Surprise, hence no pictures.) We had lunch and an ice cream cake. There were 2 games .. one was guessing baby food, and the other was changing a baby’s diaper as fast as possible while holding on to 3 items. I got 6.5 out of 7 on the baby food game (just by visual inspection – no tasting or sniffing) – sadly, I’m ridiculously familiar with baby food because Zachary is such a poor eater. In fact, just today, he told me for lunch, he only ate ketchup with a spoon. The most awesome, hilarious part of the shower was that instead of getting a pile of fancy wrapped girl clothes and toys, I literally got a card with a wad of cash in it … over $200. I guess that’s what happens when you work with mostly guys! (I’m not complaining; you can’t argue with cash being a practical gift … plus I’m Asian so cash is a perfectly acceptable present. It was just totally unexpected.) Thanks to the team for throwing me such a fun shower!

6.5 out of 7? They give partial credit in the baby food game?!? Hrrmph, not when I play! So unfair.
In other news, how’s the compressed bladder doing?
You peed in Folsom Lake, didn’t you? Didn’t you? Come on, ADMIT IT!
