  • We had a low key, but fun,  long weekend. We actually just hung out at the house on Independence Day and didn’t even stay up for fireworks. The day after, we had 3 families over for a barbecue. We brought out the bounce house and slip-n-slide. Claire made up a game about witches chasing them, and the boys loved it! Usually Zachary goes off and plays by himself, but he was totally caught up in Claire’s story.

(Luke, above left, expresses how he really feels about my cooking! )

Jason’s 1st birthday is July 10th, but we gave him his birthday present early because they’re having a big bash at a park (and it wouldn’t make sense for them to drag any more gifts home than they have to.) The next day, we went to Alex’s house for a playdate lunch … and then to Gaurav and Vivaugh’s (twins) house for a playdate dinner!

We decided to go to Kiddie Kandids this weekend too, because they were having a $9.99/sheet special. Zachary was horrible – refused to cooperate, played  “limp”, made faces, and hid behind the curtains. I was so frustrated!

36 weeks! Babies heartrate was 165 (I had a cup of coffee right before the appointment ) and my weight was 174 lbs again (0 lb weight gain, for a total of 31 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.) I’m packed for the hospital and the nursery is finally ready!

I’ve been off work for 3 full days now, and it’s been wonderful. Zachary goes to preschool in the mornings at 9am, and I pick him up around 1pm. Last week, I took him to the library one afternoon and swimming at the local aquatic center on another afternoon. I’ve been able to catch up (sort of) on my scrapbooking in the morning – as well as deal with basic chores that usually pile up until the weekend, like laundry and grocery shopping! And the biggest bonus is being able to return phone calls – so many companies are open at the same time as my work hours, I used to have to squeeze in personal calls (like doctor appointments) between meetings. James says his life is a lot easier now that I’m home too - I think we’re just so happy that there’s finally food in our refrigerator and no voicemails we need to follow up on!

Last but not least, my sister Alice’s birthday was this past Monday – Happy 31st Birthday Alice!
