Last Saturday, we celebrated Jason’s birthday at a park – Happy 1st Birthday Jason! Zachary had a lot of fun running around the park and then sorting the party favor stickers at home. On Sunday, we went to see WALL*E, which was Zachary’s first time in a real theater. He sat through it, but was only interested in the first 30-40 minutes. After that, he was squirmy, though not disruptive. I think we spoiled him with all the live shows at our resort vacations in Mexico and on the Disney cruise! I can’t say I don’t understand it though – I personally love live performances myself, and rarely watch TV or movies.
During weekdays, I’ve been having enjoying my time off in the mornings and playing with Zachary in the afternoon. Zachary completed the library reading program and received his 2 prizes – a bug that grows in the water and a new book! We also spent a few hours at the aquatic center one afternoon with Dana and Jason … both boys love water, so it was lots of fun. This Friday, we went to Dylan’s house for a swimming playdate.
On Tuesday, my mom flew in from the east coast – YEA! So far, we’ve taken walks and shopped in the mornings. In the afternoon, we’ve taken Zachary to the park and library. Because it’s so hot, we also stay home to play games. It’s great having my mom here because I can nap whenever I want and our meals have improved dramatically!
Today (Saturday), we went to the zoo and took a small train ride. We also visited the park near the zoo, and went on a walk/bike ride on a path close to our house. We can’t venture too far or make major plans since I’m due to have a baby any day now; I’m 4 days away from my estimated due date!
On the baby front, these are 39 week pictures. I’m 177 lbs (2 lbs up, for a total of 34lbs) … I had Zachary when I was 176 lbs, so I’m at an ‘all time high’ right now. This disproves the hypothesis that I reached my maximum weight a few weeks ago.
I’m still 50% effaced and between 1-2 cm dilated … so no progress from last week. Baby’s heartrate was in the 130s.

Congrats on your pregnancy. I just had my baby in June. We’re only 8 days a part in age. You don’t look like you’re 177 pounds.
You don’t look bloated at all — you look fantastic!
Can’t wait to see you and Mom next weekend!!!
The zoo photos of Zachary shows the gradual progression of his face getting sunburnt.
