Happy 1 month to Calie!
We did it! That crazy difficult first month is over, and it’s getting easier every day. Here are some 3 week pictures… now that we know for sure we have a girl, I bought some baby hair bows.
And some 4 week/1 month close ups… the consensus seems to be that her nose and mouth look exactly like Zachary’s, but she has a stronger brow ridge and larger eyes. She weighed in at slightly over 11 lbs.
This past friday, James and I invited some coworkers over to meet Calie. Twenty-four guests came over. We served sweet and sour meatballs (my mom made/froze them when she visited), salad, an artichoke dip, and some of my coworkers brought food as well.
This weekend, we went to 2 barbecues … hamburgers, sausages (the host allowed me to eat all the tips!), ribs, homemade lemon meringue… Thank goodness my diet hasn’t started yet!
Oh, and a Zachary milestone… this week, James told Zachary that he could get up at night to go potty. And since that conversation, Zachary’s been dry overnight for 6 consecutive days (knock on wood!) We never attempted or even talked to him about nighttime potty training before, because we figured it was easier to keep him in diapers. Then we had Calie, and we definitely didn’t want any additional reasons to wake up at night. We never realized that he could stay dry if he knew that was a favorable option. So there you have it. Lazy parenting at it’s best.

A few comments:
1). That’s a very large photo of alot of testosterone. Who took the photo? Zach? Such great framing skillz.
2). Calie’s yawning photo looks just like Zach’s baby photo. Are they related?
3). Leave it to you to sneak an animal photo into the blog without any explanation.
4). Are you saying that Zach is going to the bathroom at night by himself? The details of the pottytraining phenomenon are lacking.
5). Congrats on maintaining such amazing bazoombas.
lol @ Lum’s last comment..and I agree. Those bazoombas are amazing. Your daughter is gorgeous!
She is so adorable! Congrats again! With Gannon, we actually put together a potty chart where the nights he doesn’t wet the bed he gets a sticker and then after 3 days, he gets to pick out a prize. Now we have another chart that tracks the number of days he actually sleeps in his own bed (he comes to us in the night time but it is a lot better for us to go to sleep without him there as well). So we have this giant toy that we have out on display that if he can sleep in his room for so many nights then he earns this toy. It’s been a rough since he’s been so spoiled, so I’ve had to hit the floor in his room a few nights, but well worth it since I’m not sleeping well any ways… But these reward charts are genius! LOL
Hope you are all doing well and would love to visit sometime soon…maybe once radiation is over and done with…
She is very cute, but seems to be in need of a neck brace.
Calista is sooo cute!
