Happy 9 months to Calie (5/1)! A few days before she turned 9 months, she started going to daycare. She did NOT like that! It was especially sad since she was getting over a cold (bad timing), but she’s adapting to the communal environment very well now. She still whines at drop off, but I’ve visited during the day and she’s always fine. I feel a lot better about her being in daycare compared to Zachary. When Zachary was 1-year-old, I was one of the only moms I knew who chose to go back to work full time. Now, most of my friends are successful career women who juggle family life and their jobs just fine. And their kids are happy, smart, and outgoing too!
It does helps that Calie is an extrovert … and being a 2nd child, she can hold her own. She’s 2nd youngest in the class, but I bet she’s the loudest! In terms of her eating habits, we’ve stopped keeping track of new foods. Last night she had chicken mango risotto … and today she had sweet potato fries. She seems really curious about food – she will turn her head to watch me eat and open her mouth. I’m still hoping that she will be my future sushi partner!
On Sunday, we went to Sherry’s baby shower. Melissa kicked butt at Sudoku, but I was such dead weight that the other team still won. Congratulations Oliver, Sherry, and Austin! (For the new addition to their family, not winning Sudoku).
This week, Calie received a gift from my friend Erin – 2 outfits and her very first My Little Pony -Thank you! Calie opened the gift and I exclaimed,”MY Little Pony!” Zachary stormed over and said,”Why do you think it’s YOURS? Whoever opens it gets the gift, so it must be Calie’s” He then makes a generalization before walking away,”Girls like ponies.”
Other Zachary sayings:
Zachary: I will love you even when you are 130 years old.
Me: That’s ridiculous, I’d be dead!
Zachary: That’s not ridiculous. I will love you even after you die.
Me: How long do you think I will live anyway?
Zachary: When daddy dies, then you know you will die soon. Unless you eat the right foods. Then you can live alittle longer.

Cute! A vast majority of the photos of Calie have her with her tongue out. It’s like she is mocking you.
SO cute. She’s going to be a fun child to be around
I love how kids already knows what love means
Happy Mother’s Day! Adorable kids!
Yeah, once your baby’s list of Foods Tried includes chicken mango risotto, it probably makes sense to stop counting.
