Happy 9 months to Zachary! (1/6/04) Well, I survived my first week back at work! It was actually pretty good - I missed him, but I knew he was being taken care of by dad. The sad news is that Zachary has been sick all week. It started on Monday - he had a fever for 2 days. Then lots of diarrhea and vomiting. He is barely eating at home - just 4oz of formula during the 9 hours I am at work. He refuses any solids. I'm starting to pump at work because our doctor said it would be easier for him to digest. He also has diaper rash for the first time in his life ... and it's pretty bad. Interestingly, despite his poor health, he is in great spirits. He is playing and laughing and having fun! This weekend, his friend Megan came to play.

Poor baby.
My son had a 103 degree fever last week....talk about worrisome. Then Sam and I caught his cold and just the other day, I threw up....damn flu/cold season!
Zachary looks so grown up standing there!!! Happy 9 months to Mr.Z!!!
Aren't babies marvelous? They are better troopers than adults when they're sick.
Hope Zachary feels better soon.
P.S. Johnathan gets his butt washed every morning and after every poopy diaper....he only had a DR a couple of times...washing of the butt is a DR preventer.
P.S. I love the pic of Zachary helping with the laundry.
He's my kinda man.
I hope the little man gets well soon!!!
Hey James has the same straw cup and Leap Pad table thing!
Get well soon Zach!
how does one cure diaper rash?
Aw, I hope he's feeling better soon
he is just so darn kute!
And he looks so happy even though he sick, you can never tell, except the rosy cheeks, but they actually make him even cuter! OH KUTIE!
I can't believe how big and beautiful Zachary is getting! What a sweetie! You know, I think something is going around. Because Abby threw up one night in the middle of the night and then she has been the same as your son since about Wednesday, except no fever. I called the doc and he said as long as she is drinking juice, then she's ok with no fever. I hope he gets better soon!
Glad your transition back to work went ok! It's a little easier knowing there is someone great taking care of him!
Love Kim and Abby
Yeah, I have one semester to get resolve everything. I have proof so I'm praying he'll believe me.
Yup, a 103 fever. His throat was inflamed which lead to the fever; his ped. prescribed him ibuprofen(sp) and his fever went down w/in hours.
Oops--please excuse the grammatical errors.
I have what you call butterfingers.
OH dear, his face seemed to have slimmed down from the illness. Hope he gets well soon!
Hope Zach feels better soon. Matt has his first diaper rash also.
Zach is so cute. He has his big boy face now
Nathan has the exact same toy (first picture on the top left). He loves it and it looks like Zach loves it too.
I hope he gets better.
Awww..poor Zachary...is he better now?
I think to get rid of nappy rash..you have to air him a bit..ie let him be in the nudie...hehe..how cute would that be..although..bit dangerous..ie toilet-desires. And putting sorbolene (non-irritated cream)...my nieces had eczma so we do this quite a bit when they're young.
So you're back at work? Hope all is well there...being in the Adult world again and all.*smilez*
I guess the cold/flu is going around again. My son's been sick for a week now too. Hope little Zach gets well soon ;D
He is so darling! I hope he feels better. I am just in love with my niece and nephew- they are 1 and 2. So precious at these ages!
Oh glad to hear that you're okay with going back to work, it has to be hard not playing with Zachary all day. Hmm.. stay home with a super kute baby or work? awww... I'd quit my job I think hehe..
GET BETTER ZACH!!!
he's a trooper! it must be so hard to have to be away from such a cutie.
why are all the kiddos I know getting sick?
I hope Zach feels better soon...
How's work?.. I don't think I'll want to go back to work after I get off maternity.. lol... I'm probably going to be one of those pumping working mommies too...
Let me know how that goes and if you have any tips...
i agree women are complicated.
i also agree that men are too simple to understand all of women's complexities.
but does everything have to be so complicated? = )
keeping it simple would make everyone happier.
Hi! hope Zachery feel better soon, Happy nine months!
how does he look so good while being sick??? he needs to tell me when his secret! hope zachary feels better.
wow... he's growing up so fast! I miss when my nephews were at that age...
awww!! poor boy!! i hope hes doing better now! adorable pictures as always!
*hugs*
Your baby has as crazy in his eye (no whites in his eyes...all black). Perhaps he is overstimulated by the amount of toys.
It's an interesting fact that eyeballs actually grow very little -- only a couple of millimeters perhaps -- from babyhood to adulthood. What DOES grow substantially is the hole. This explains why babies appear to have much less sclera (i.e. "white"). As the hole increases in size, more of the sclera shows through. I think the fact that babies (and for that matter, puppies and kittens) have nearly-adult-sized eyeballs, but tiny everything-else, is a big part of the Cuteness Equation.
only 3 more months before he gets showered with gifts. =) Hope all is well.
He has his mother's eyes. 100% B-D.
I find it suspicious that last week he had exterme constipation and now he has violent diarreah. You used *those* pills, didn't you? Didn't you? You love giving those to people.
I'm so excited about finding your page. My fiance (soon to be husband) and I just found out we're pregnant and our baby will be a hapa baby too! I love seeing all the pictures because your baby is so good looking and I pray that mine is as happy and easy going as yours!
Happy birthday Zachary!! I know it must be hard having to go back to work and all, but it will all be better after the adjustment period. Just my opinion, but I think the pumping thing is the best option for him- though it's tiring and a lot of work, it's what will be best for him. I don't know if you breastfed him until recently, but you should keep doing it. Some babies don't do good with formula if they have been breastfed. Enough of that though- I hope you are doing great and your boy is getting so big and is beautiful as always.
Well, you still looked very good despite being a mum already. I'm sure you'll be able to find clothes that suit yourself. Good luck!
ryc: Yeah it was a good night...I didn't mention but the bus tour was kind of a rip..$35 to take us around to 4 places which are usually free anyways and serve us cheap drinks between trips (ie 5-10mins). too embarassing to mention on my site. hehe
Also, Hen's Night is the bachelorette's night. Didn't realise that it was an Aussie term =)
