Month: February 2005

  • Zachary waved “good-bye” for the first time last Sunday. We had brunch with some friends after gym class, and he waved good-bye to them! I spent much of the long weekend shopping. There were so many good deals on kids clothes and toys. I really held back though, because he might get a lot of clothes/toys/books for his 1st birthday. I have the party invitations and favors done. His Amazon wish list is updated, although I’m telling people not to get gifts – he really has too much of everything.

Oh – and did anyone notice (top pics)? New shoes! He finally outgrew his 6-12 month Robeez. Should I bronze them or is that totally crazy? I guess preparing for an April birthday party in February is pretty crazy too. Can you tell he’s an only child?

  • Yea! I have a long weekend this week! Hope everyone had a very Happy Valentine’s Day. Sophie came up to Roseville for some Java classes, so she babysat while James and I went out for dinner. I recieved a water bottle, a pair of peridot earrings, and roses at work! In exchange, James got a pair of brown Cole Haans (see picture below).

Here’s Zachary eating fried rice. He’s starting to eat some table foods now. (Note: Corn passes through babies just like they do adults.) James took him to the two Discovery museums in Sacramento on Wednesday. There was a breakfast table with bread and a Chinese pork bun!

His friend Mia came play last weekend. Mia’s mom went back to work the same time I did … and she’s staying home with her dad until she’s one. Just like Zachary!

Much to his father’s dismay, I am posting BATH PICTURES! I love naked babies – I think they are so cute!

  • This weekend, Zach’s grandparents came to visit. We went to a train swap meet, and Zachary scored a Thomas t-shirt. He also got Yosemite socks

Last weekend, I got together with one of the mom’s from my group. We took a 2 mile walk to Starbucks – it was the most exercise I’ve had in a long time! On Wednesday, we had a bunch of friends over for Chinese New Year. We ate spring rolls and the meat was cooked hotpot style. I got Zach two presents – board books since he loves to be read to. Actually, he just likes bopping to the sound and turning the pages.

Guess what? One of Zach’s friends (Christopher) is joining his gym. He came to a preview class and liked it. This is great news because I get to chat with Christopher’s mom during class. Here are some gym pictures. Does it seem like I have many gym pictures? It’s because Zach hits the gym 5-6 times a week.

Arg. Xanga is painfully slow tonight. I wonder what is going on. Are they scanning for viruses? Backing up?

  • Hello everyone. This weekend, Zachary got his first haircut. It went pretty well – we went to a place that specialized in babies/kids haircuts. Of course, I saved a lock for the baby book. My 2 sisters came to visit, and we went to a Fondue birthday party honoring my friend Dana.

We put a deposit on his birthday party at EncourGYM. They’ll set up and clean up.Yea! Plus, they’ll entertain all the kids with bubble blowers, a parachute, big trampoline, slide ect. They even provide the invitations (although I might want to get my own) and balloons. I just have to buy the cake, paper products, appetizers, and goodie bag. I’m thinking it’ll be a “sports” theme since the party is at a gym. I could get inflatable beach balls for the goodie bag. And while Zach does not need more shoes, I really like the baseball Robeez. Arg… should I get them?! And what size? He currently wears 6-12 months. He has 2 pairs for 12-18 months, and another 2 for 18-24 months. (After 2, he won’t need to wear the soft shoes.) The 6-12 are very worn out, but the 12-18 months are too big still.
